We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. This role reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD) and is classified as nonexempt. The Cook position is vital for preparing, cooking, and packaging food products in line with our operational and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various food stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food preparation areas. They will also ensure compliance with company policies and perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain a safe and efficient kitchen. This position demands strong multitasking skills, the ability to follow directions carefully, and effective communication skills. The role involves irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as it supports the restaurant’s constant operational needs.
The working environment includes continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. Cooks will be frequently exposed to heat, hot liquids, and freezer environments and occasionally to varying weather conditions when stocking food. This position offers a dynamic and challenging atmosphere where employees have the opportunity to develop valuable skills in food service and kitchen operations. Job Duties
- Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
- operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
- comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
- have regular attendance
- report customer or employee complaints or issues to MOD
- move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
- perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
