This role requires hands-on participation in various stages of food preparation, utilizing equipment such as flat top grills, char-broilers, cooktops, waffle bakers, Panini presses, and fryers. The Cook will play a critical part in maintaining the high standards of food quality by adhering to portion sizes, cooking techniques, and presentation guidelines established by Keke's Breakfast Cafe.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for stocking kitchen stations to ensure seamless service during peak periods, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout their workstation, and assisting with kitchen opening and closing procedures. The Cook will also participate in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks, contributing to a safe and sanitary work environment for all staff and patrons.

Job Duties

  • Prepares a variety of food items utilizing flat top grills, char-broiler, cook top, waffle baker, Panini press and fryer
  • Assumes responsibility for quality of products prepared and served
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including all cooking equipment and refrigeration equipment
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Opens and closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Assists in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
