Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience preferred
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- commitment to wearing uniform and name badge
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- willingness to work full time, 40 hours per week
- must be able to follow instructions and perform repetitive tasks
Job Qualifications

- previous experience as a cook preferred
- ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions
- knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe food handling practices
- bilingual in English and Spanish desirable

Job Duties
- Read menu to estimate food requirements, order food from supplier or procure from storage
- adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
- bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- add seasoning to food during mixing or cooking according to personal judgment and experience
- observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing to determine doneness
- carve meat, portion food on serving plates, add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to fill orders
- return unused food items to designated storage areas, ensuring perishables are covered and dated
- supervise other cooks and kitchen employees as needed
- wash, peel, cut and shred vegetables and fruits
- butcher chickens, fish, and shellfish
- make bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry
- price items on the menu
- maintain uniform and wear identification badge on property
- support and adhere to company core values, mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy
- perform other duties assigned by manager or supervisor
