The Cook position at Comprehensive Healthcare is a vital role within the Bridges facility, a 16-bed adult evaluation and treatment center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious and balanced meals tailored to the needs of residents. This role requires oversight of the kitchen's daily operations, including supplies ordering, equipment maintenance, and strict adherence to food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure the well-being of all clients. Ideal candidates for this position will be highly organized, capable of working independently, and bring prior kitchen and cooking experience to the team. The Cook will coordinate closely with dietary consultants to meet individual nutritional requirements and will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to the health and recovery of clients within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team setting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months of related kitchen and cooking experience
- Must have or be able to obtain Food Handler's permit
- Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
- In compliance with state and federal law, must complete post-offer pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous kitchen experience

Job Duties
- Planning, preparing, and serving well-balanced meals for clients
- Coordinating with a dietary consultant to ensure clients' nutritional needs are met
- Cleaning and organizing kitchen area and equipment
- Requesting repairs or replacement of kitchen equipment as needed
- Strictly following food safety rules to prevent cross-contamination and food-borne illnesses
- Preparing menus and ordering food and supplies
- Completing documentation related to recipes, menus, food orders, meals served, and special diets
- Coaching other staff on food preparation and work safety as appropriate
