The Cook position at Meow Wolf reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and plays a vital role in preparing a variety of menu items with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role primarily involves working in an indoor kitchen environment where the cook will ensure adherence to standardized recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with relevant regulations such as the New Mexico Health Code and Environmental Department standards. The cook collaborates closely with the food and beverage team, including cooks and managers, to coordinate food preparation and delivery, contributing to a seamless guest experience. Additionally, this position involves receiving and replenishing kitchen inventories, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting the front-of-house team when needed, and upholding safety protocols throughout the workday.
This role requires individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, offering excellent communication skills and a welcoming demeanor. Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. Candidates need to be at least 18 years old and possess a valid food handler card approved by New Mexico authorities, ensuring they bring knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation standards. Bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in English and Spanish, are preferred to enhance customer service interactions. Meow Wolf is committed to supporting its employees by providing a safe and inclusive workplace, maintaining OSHA safety protocols, and offering reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. This position does not require supervisory oversight and does not involve travel, focusing instead on providing excellent culinary service and contributing to a vibrant, creative community within Meow Wolf.
Meow Wolf emphasizes not only the financial compensation of its roles but also the holistic wellbeing of its employees through commitments as a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation and B Corporation. The company focuses on supporting social, environmental, and financial wellbeing as part of its triple bottom line approach. Meow Wolf also prioritizes inclusion and equal opportunity employment, ensuring that all employees enjoy a supportive environment free from discrimination and harassment. They encourage candidates who resonate with their mission and values to join their team and be part of a revolutionary artistic endeavor that challenges traditional paradigms of creativity and engagement.
