Job Description

Sapphire Health Services operates McKenzie Manor, a vibrant senior living community located in Eugene, Oregon. McKenzie Manor, formerly known as SouthTowne, was acquired in November 2022 and serves as a dedicated memory care facility with 47 residential units designed specifically for individuals requiring specialized memory care support. The community has recently undergone extensive renovations including complete interior repainting, the introduction of new furniture packages, and significant improvements to the grounds and entryway, establishing a fresh and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. Sapphire Health Services is committed to fostering a supportive and enriching atmosphere where both residents and team members can thrive. They provide comprehensive training programs, tuition reimbursement options, competitive wages, and generous incentives to attract and retain a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Their mission emphasizes promoting the highest quality of life for residents, staff, and communities through consideration, respect, and excellence in care.

The Cook position at McKenzie Manor is a vital role within the Dining Services Department, encompassing duties in both the kitchen and dining areas. This part-time role demands a dedicated individual to ensure meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality, nutrition, and presentation, supporting the unique dietary needs of memory care residents. The Cook is responsible for executing meal plans according to specific menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines, with particular attention to therapeutic and modified diets such as low sodium and diabetic meal plans. This role requires close collaboration with dietary team members, nursing staff, and management to maintain food safety standards, timely meal delivery, and an organized kitchen environment. The successful Cook must be experienced or highly skilled in cooking, especially within healthcare or senior living settings, and must be able to work efficiently under fast-paced conditions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with inventory management, food portioning, training new dietary aides, and supporting community activities or special events. This position requires the candidate to be at least 18 years old and possess a Food Handler's Card or acquire one upon hire. The role offers a supportive workplace culture where teamwork, communication, and resident-centered service are paramount. Sapphire Health Services emphasizes employee growth and satisfaction, offering benefits including paid time off, health insurance, retirement plans, and educational opportunities as part of their commitment to a respectful and high-quality work environment.
