This establishment is committed to creating a fun, engaging, and safe atmosphere for millions of visitors every year, attracting guests from around the world. Employees at Busch Gardens are valued for their dedication, enthusiasm, and ability to contribute to the park’s reputation as a premier location for family fun and thrills.
Working at Busch Gardens means becoming part of a dynamic team in an environment where positive interactions with guests are a top priority. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive workplace culture where team members, referred to as Ambassadors, can thrive personally and professionally while delivering exceptional service. This particular role offers a competitive hourly wage of $15.50, with eligibility for the Tipped Pool Program, which can enhance overall earnings and provide financial incentives based on performance and guest interaction.
The position involves preparing high-quality food that meets the rigorous standards set by United Parks & Resorts, following strict menu specifications and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include cooking using advanced kitchen equipment such as open flame char grills, smokers, steam kettles, woks, and large bakery machinery. Food preparation also encompasses chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats, assembling dishes like wraps, sandwiches, salads, and fruit cups, and ensuring that all food items are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations including HACCP guidelines. Moreover, the role involves careful attention to dietary needs, particularly incorporating knowledge about the top eight allergens to prepare special dietary meals safely.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment within a vibrant theme park setting. The role calls for responsibility, multitasking, and strong communication skills, as Ambassadors must interact professionally and effectively with guests, fellow team members, and vendors. The job offers diverse work experiences, including the chance to learn and use protective gear and specialized kitchen equipment, always with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned areas. Employees must be adaptable to flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and varied work locations based on business needs and career development opportunities.
Overall, working as a cook at Busch Gardens is more than just a job; it’s a chance to contribute to creating joyful and lasting memories for guests, build culinary skills, and be part of an exciting and supportive team environment.
