Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept established in 1983 in Glendale, California. Over the years, it has grown to become the largest organization of its kind in America, operating close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is deeply committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while maintaining strong family values and building a team that inspires individuals to improve their lives. The restaurants not only focus on providing high-quality food but also emphasize creating vibrant and welcoming environments for their guests. At Panda Restaurant Group, the belief is that its people are the recipe for success, and thus, the company invests heavily in the growth and development of its associates. This includes offering hands-on training, ongoing career and leadership development, and clear pathways to management roles. The company fosters inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring a work environment free from discrimination and supportive of individuals with disabilities through reasonable accommodations during the hiring process and employment. This inclusive spirit enhances the vibrant culture within Panda’s establishments, where employees’ contributions are valued and their career aspirations nurtured.

The role of a Panda Cook is central to the company's success and culture. As a Cook, you will be a key leader in the kitchen and an essential part of the team, responsible not just for preparing food but for delivering it with passion and pride. Your responsibilities will include making dishes that meet company recipes and quality standards meticulously, maintaining high food safety standards in compliance with local regulations, and guiding and assisting in training your kitchen teammates. The position requires versatility, as you will perform all back-of-house responsibilities, often requiring you to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of accuracy and cleanliness. The work environment involves standing for long periods, working around hot steam and food vapors, and handling kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Physical endurance is necessary, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adapt to a dynamic, noisy, and sometimes confined kitchen environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative team setting, takes pride in their craft, and has a strong desire to grow within a company committed to their employees' personal and professional advancement.
