Job Description
Next Step Healthcare is a locally owned and operated healthcare provider dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to residents across various healthcare facilities. Recognized for its commitment to not just meeting, but exceeding the expectations of its clients, Next Step Healthcare stands as a reliable partner in the healthcare industry. The company embodies values like care, respect, accountability, and teamwork, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for both its employees and its residents. With a focus on serving the community, the organization champions a holistic approach to healthcare that integrates emotional and physical well-being, making it a preferred workplace for healthcare professionals who are truly passionate about making a difference.
We are currently seeking a part-time Cook to join our team at Fall River Healthcare, a facility under the Next Step Healthcare umbrella. This role is crucial in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, well-prepared meals that meet their specific dietary needs. The Part Time Cook will work closely with the Food Service Director to prepare and cook food in large quantities according to prescribed diet plans, menu cycles, and consistency requirements. This position requires adherence to strict standards related to food handling, preparation, and sanitation to uphold the highest levels of food safety and hygiene.
As a part-time team member, the cook will receive a $1,000 sign-on and retention bonus, underscoring our commitment to valuing and recognizing the efforts of our staff. While the position is part-time, it offers a meaningful role within a respected healthcare organization, providing ample opportunities for personal growth and contribution to a resident-centered care approach. The ideal candidate will have experience in a culinary environment, particularly in large volume food prep and service, and must hold a valid ServSafe certification.
The Cook's responsibilities encompass cooking meals that meet federal, state, and other regulatory guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, and promoting a culture of safety and respect within the food service team. Additionally, this role involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive health information under HIPAA regulations, and demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills. The Cook will also participate actively in creating a supportive and responsive environment for residents, families, and coworkers alike.
This position requires not only culinary expertise but also a compassionate and attentive approach, aligning with Next Step Healthcare's mission of providing care that makes residents feel safe, respected, and listened to. If you have a passion for helping others and a dedication to culinary excellence in a healthcare setting, the Cook role at Fall River Healthcare offers a rewarding career path with excellent benefits, supportive work culture, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
