Job Description
Legacy Senior Living is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to providing compassionate care and creating meaningful experiences for older adults. With a commitment to respect, dignity, and personalized service, Legacy Senior Living stands as a trusted provider of senior care, ensuring that each resident enjoys a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment. Their approach integrates holistic care that addresses not only the physical needs but also the emotional and social well-being of their residents. This dedication has established Legacy Senior Living as a leader in the senior care industry, known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere and unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
At Legacy Senior Living, the role of a Cook extends far beyond traditional kitchen responsibilities. Serving as memory makers and caregivers in disguise, Cooks play a pivotal role in shaping the daily joys that residents experience through mealtime. The position requires a passionate individual who values cooking as a means to nourish both body and spirit, while honoring the dignity and unique preferences of seniors. Cooks at Legacy Senior Living are entrusted with preparing nutritious and well-balanced meals that adhere strictly to approved menus and dietary guidelines, mindful of any allergies and medical restrictions specific to residents. Presentation is key, with an emphasis on offering meals in an appealing, restaurant-style manner that enhances appetite and fosters dignity.
This role also encompasses effective kitchen management and sanitation, ensuring compliance with OSHA and state food safety regulations. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, assisting with stock management, maintaining cleanliness, and promptly addressing any equipment or safety concerns with leadership. Furthermore, Cooks engage directly with residents to foster hospitality, receive feedback, and adapt to special dietary instructions by coordinating closely with care staff. The position encourages a team-oriented environment where collaboration and mutual support among kitchen and dining teams are essential.
Legacy Senior Living values a candidate who brings previous commercial kitchen experience, preferably in senior living or healthcare settings, along with a genuine respect and compassion for older adults. Organizational skills, time management, and the ability to follow safety protocols and recipes with precision are crucial. ServSafe certification is required or can be obtained upon hire. The role demands physical stamina to operate in a fast-paced kitchen setting, including standing for long periods and lifting.
Joining Legacy Senior Living means becoming part of a mission-driven workplace that honors service, integrity, and respect. The position offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, employee meals, uniforms, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Legacy Senior Living fosters an environment where employees feel respected, supported, and motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors. If you aspire to cook with heart and serve with purpose, this is an opportunity to nourish both the body and spirit within a community that values legacy and care.
