The organization is currently seeking skilled professionals for a dynamic Food Service position focused on meat carving and kitchen preparation. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional culinary experiences by carving meats such as beef, pork, and poultry to specified portion sizes and presentation standards in a customer-facing setting. The actor in this position will play a direct role in customer interaction, answering inquiries, and accommodating requests with a professional and friendly demeanor. This hands-on role demands expertise in trimming, seasoning, marinating, and portioning raw meats, as well as the preparation of various food items following established recipes and menu standards to ensure consistency and quality.
In this role, the team member will handle various food prep tasks, including washing, slicing, peeling, and cutting different foods to prepare them for cooking or serving. They will observe and test foods for appropriate cooking levels using sensory evaluations like tasting or smelling. Compliance with health and safety regulations is paramount, including maintaining sanitary work environments and proper food temperatures. The meat carver will coordinate closely with dining room staff and communicate effectively with leads and sous chefs, ensuring smooth operational flow and timely preparation of all food items. The role also includes completing opening, closing, and side duties as assigned, adhering to company training, and upholding strict confidentiality and company standards through Standard Operating Procedures. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- minimum one year of experience as a line cook required
- previous experience in meat carving, butchery, or kitchen prep preferred
- strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts required
- ability to work in customer-facing roles professionally
- basic reading and math skills for recipes
- ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
- ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- knowledge and application of sanitation procedures
- willingness to attend company trainings as scheduled
Job Qualifications

- degree in culinary arts or recognized apprenticeship preferred
- minimum one year of experience as a line cook
- previous experience in meat carving, butchery, or kitchen prep preferred
- strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts
- comfortable working in a customer-facing role with a friendly and professional demeanor
- basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements
- ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
- demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items in a high-volume, fast-paced operation
- knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety regulations
Job Duties
- Carve meats to specified portion sizes and presentation standards in a customer-facing environment
- interact with customers professionally while carving, answering basic questions and accommodating reasonable requests
- prepare raw meats by trimming, seasoning, marinating, and portioning as needed
- prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of products
- wash, slice, peel, and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
- observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- ensure work procedures, quality standards, and menu specifications are executed according to established guidelines
- coordinate with and communicate orders to dining room staff
- prepare all food items accurately and in a timely manner
- complete all assigned prep items as written on prep sheet
- use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe, and effective manner
- observe and enforce Health Department regulations regarding food handling and cleanliness
- attend company training programs as scheduled
- complete opening, closing, and other side duties as assigned by supervisors
- communicate as needed with Lead Cook and Sous Chefs
- perform all job functions in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company standards
- maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters
