Job Description

MultiCare Covington Medical Center is a vibrant healthcare institution located in the heart of southeast King County. The Cook position at MultiCare Covington Medical Center is an integral part of the Nutrition Services team that plays a vital role in supporting the hospital’s mission to provide excellent patient care. This role involves preparing high-quality, nutritious meals in compliance with food safety regulations for hospital patients, staff, families, and visitors. The position is designed for individuals passionate about food and nutrition who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The cook will follow department recipes and production standards to ensure consistent, whole, fresh, and locally sourced meals that emphasize sustainability whenever economically viable.

In this role, the cook will engage in restaurant-style dining service, reflecting a commitment to using fresh and sustainable products to enhance the patient and visitor experience. Key responsibilities include ordering supplies, preparing food items, maintaining proper food safety and sanitation standards, and managing refrigeration and freezer stocks. The position requires a strong culinary background, experience in diverse dining settings ranging from casual to fine dining, and adaptability to a high-volume, customer service-centered environment. The cook is expected to demonstrate an enthusiastic and food-centric attitude, working closely with other team members to deliver exceptional quality and dining experiences.
