Discovery Management Group is actively seeking a dedicated Cook to join their community-based team. This role is integral to ensuring that residents enjoy high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals daily. The Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold menu items, utilizing various cooking stations including grill, sauté, salad-bar, and service lines. This position is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and committed to supporting senior wellness through expertly prepared meals that meet dietary standards and enhance resident satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience required
- Experience in senior living preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work weekends and flexible hours
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior living preferred
- Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required
- Great organizational skills a must
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and presentation of food product is required
- Must be able to work weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, saute station, salad-bar and on the service line
- Ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes
- Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
