Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year relevant cooking experience
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- prior kitchen or cooking experience in a large volume production environment preferred
- knowledge of safety procedures typical in cafeteria or food service environments
- minimum age of 18 years
- ability to stand for extended periods
- physical capability for lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of relevant cooking experience
- prior experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility preferred
- knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- ability to follow recipes and standard kitchen protocols
- dependable and flexible
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
- operate a variety of kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
- handle, store, label, and rotate all products properly according to state laws
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- understand and follow menu items and recipes
- multitask in a high-volume kitchen and adapt to changes
- handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
- perform other related duties as assigned
