Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8 hour shift
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work areas
- Must be able to work inside and outside the restaurant
- Must meet state, county, or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must have ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards and maintain them throughout the shift
- Must possess excellent guest service skills
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must place a value on diversity and show respect for others
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
- Basic math skills including measurements and units
- Ability to follow recipes and menu specifications accurately
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and standards
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook and present food to order following established company brand standards guidelines and recipe specifications
- Follow correct prepping procedures, utilize prep charts
- Properly store and rotate perishable stock
- Maintain proper food temperatures according to brand standards and regulations
- Prepare special orders as requested
- Organize and maintain work areas, coolers, and storage areas
- Clean and take proper care of kitchen equipment such as ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, and utensils
