Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • able to lift and carry supplies up to 50 lbs
  • able to stand and walk for 4 to 8 hour shifts
  • able to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
  • able to communicate in English
  • meet state local food handling regulations
  • ability to work with potentially hazardous chemicals
  • meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards
  • able to pass required tests and training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking or kitchen experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to read and follow recipe specifications
  • basic math skills
  • strong product and menu knowledge
  • excellent guest service skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare cook and present food to order following company menu and food specifications
  • adhere to safe food handling regulations
  • maintain proper food temperatures
  • prepare special orders as requested
  • maintain stock to shift par levels
  • organize and maintain work areas coolers and storage areas
  • clean and care for kitchen equipment
