This role focuses on preparing delicious, nourishing meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of our residents while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. As a member of the culinary team, you will work with professional vendors who supply the finest raw materials and utilize cutting-edge food production technology to craft appealing menu items. The position offers a work-life balance with flexible shifts that avoid late nights, allowing you to enjoy your evenings for rest and personal time. Culinary creativity is highly valued here, whether you collaborate closely with the Culinary Director or independently craft enticing dishes that nourish both the body and spirit of our residents.\n\nThe Cook role is ideal for passionate culinary professionals with restaurant experience or formal culinary arts education who want to share their love of food in a rewarding senior living environment. The position includes engaging resident interaction where meals are more than food — they are experiences that contribute to residents' joy and quality of life. The work schedule typically runs from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a four-on, two-off rotation that includes weekends and holidays. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to speak, read & write English
  • Must be willing to undergo a routine background check

Job Duties

  • Prepares or assist in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.
  • Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents ensuring everyone enjoys their meals
  • Create gravies, sauces, and menu items from scratch, showcasing our culinary creativity
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are serve, elevating the dining experience
  • Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality, tastes food to determine quality
