The position of Cook at Weber State University is a full-time role, with shifts varying to meet the operational demands of the campus dining facilities. Job Requirements

- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shifts
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift
- Lift and move food supplies and equipment up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Perform repetitive motions as required by kitchen duties
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Adapt to additional duties as assigned depending on business needs and client requirements
