The available cook position at Zaxby's offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, providing flexibility for a variety of schedules. Classified as a non-exempt position, cooks report directly to the Assistant Manager and General Manager. The core responsibility of this role centers around delivering a great guest experience through the preparation and serving of quality food in a timely and safe manner. Cooks at Zaxby's are expected to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, and uphold company operational procedures.

In addition to food preparation and cooking, this role also involves receiving and stocking inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations. The cook will be responsible for assembling orders accurately, maintaining product levels across stations, and contributing to front-of-house services when necessary. Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Sit, stand, and walk continuously
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including the use of ladders
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including lifting overhead
  • Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation
  • Communicate proficiently through speech, reading, and writing
  • Maintain effective audio-visual perception and judgement to observe and respond to the environment
  • Work in an environment that features hot and cold temperature variations and exposure to food allergens
  • Operate and work safely with restaurant equipment including, but not limited to, knives, fryers, and potentially hazardous equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work 32 to 40 hours per week
  • Strong communication skills through speech, reading, and writing
  • Capability to maintain effective audio-visual perception and judgement
  • Experience or willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
  • Receptive to ongoing training and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Job Duties

  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Maintain equipment and inform management of maintenance needs
  • Assist with inventory and storage management
  • Receive and stock incoming inventory deliveries
  • Hold and store food items following food safety guidelines
