The Cook position at Maine Medical Center plays an essential role in the Service/Maintenance Support department. This role is responsible for the preparation of nutritious and high-quality foods for patients, guests, residents, and employees, ensuring that dietary needs and preferences are met while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Beyond food preparation, the Cook is also tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area and ensuring that all cooking equipment and supplies are properly maintained and available for efficient operation.

This role requires a dedicated individual who holds a high school diploma or GED and possesses at least one year of relevant food production experience. Additionally, the position requires food safety certification, such as ServSafe, which must be obtained within three months of hire, thus emphasizing the hospital's commitment to food safety standards.
