The role of Cook at Summit’s Cleveland, Ohio location is a full-time, onsite position within the corrections segment. This position requires an experienced culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong emphasis on scratch cooking — preparing meals from fresh ingredients without relying heavily on pre-prepared or processed foods. As a Cook, you will be a key player in a motivated, energized kitchen team that prioritizes quality and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include preparing food that meets the highest standards of taste and presentation, maintaining strict portion control, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. You will also be responsible for proper storage of food items to maintain freshness and safety, and following all food handling procedures and recipes to comply with safety regulations.

Summit seeks individuals who have previous culinary experience — at least one year — particularly in quality, high-volume establishments. Candidates should have a solid understanding of culinary methods, techniques, and standards and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment. Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment and an ability to accurately identify different food items are essential for success in this role. Customer service experience is also required, as the job involves interaction with team members and possibly with other facility staff.

The compensation for this position is competitive, offering a wage of $22.00 per hour.
