Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned family-owned American Chinese restaurant chain that has been serving authentic Asian dining experiences since its founding in Glendale, California in 1983. Today, it stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting close to 2,800 locations globally. The company is deeply committed to fostering a vibrant community and inspiring its team members to improve their lives through a supportive and dynamic work environment. Panda Restaurant Group embraces strong family values and emphasizes equal opportunity employment for all, making it an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated. The company offers an engaging and fast-paced atmosphere where employees are encouraged to grow and succeed alongside the business. With an ongoing focus on career development, leadership training, and a robust benefits package, Panda Restaurant Group prioritizes both its customers' dining experience and its associates' wellbeing.
The Panda Cook position plays a crucial role within the company’s kitchen teams. As a Panda Cook, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality dishes that align with the company’s recipes and quality standards. This role requires passion for cooking, attention to detail, commitment to food safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment. Beyond food preparation, Panda Cooks support a welcoming atmosphere for guests and contribute to a positive workplace culture by guiding and assisting in training kitchen team members. The position involves multitasking between different back-of-house responsibilities, which include everything from food preparation to maintaining sanitary kitchen conditions.
This role offers flexible working schedules, competitive pay ranging from $15.00 to $21.00 per hour depending on location and experience, and various employee benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, and retirement saving plans. Candidates will also receive hands-on paid training to set them up for success, with clear pathways available to advance into management roles. As a Panda Cook, you’ll gain invaluable experience in a supportive team setting that values hard work, pride in service, and a commitment to community engagement.
In addition to technical cooking skills, employees should be physically capable of meeting the demands of the kitchen environment, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, handling kitchen equipment safely, and adapting to a dynamic workplace with shifting priorities. Panda Restaurant Group takes pride in its inclusive employment practices, adhering strictly to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and offering accommodations to qualified individuals throughout the hiring and employment process.
Joining Panda Restaurant Group as a Cook means becoming part of a family-oriented organization that appreciates the impact its team members have on both the business and the communities it serves. Whether you are just starting your culinary career or looking for an opportunity to grow in a thriving, internationally recognized restaurant group, this role offers the platform you need to succeed and make a difference, all while working in an environment that values your contribution, supports your well-being, and rewards your efforts.
