Job Duties

  • Prepare all soups, stocks, and sauces
  • boil, braise, and roast items as per standardized recipes
  • saute, fry, grill, steam, puree, and bake items according to recipes
  • complete paperwork and clean equipment
  • assist with kitchen sanitation
  • maintain the hot food line and service to residents
  • ensure proper food temperatures and quality
  • communicate entree choices and serve proper portions
  • prepare salads, desserts, and baked goods per standardized recipes
  • follow food production sheets and meal schedules
  • comply with sanitation standards and OBRA guidelines
  • maintain cleanliness and personal hygiene
  • monitor, teach, redirect, and discipline production and waited service staff
  • participate in pre-service meetings and menu planning
  • comply with dietary restrictions
  • follow safety regulations and HACCP guidelines
  • maintain workstation safety and sanitation
  • attend training sessions
  • perform assigned duties
  • identify safety hazards and respond properly
  • model Cottage Grove Place's expectations
