Operating in various sectors including healthcare, education, business, and government, Sodexo emphasizes creating an exceptional experience for both clients and employees through innovative and customized services. At Hillcrest Medical Center, Sodexo delivers high-quality dining services as part of its mission to support the health and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. With a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and employee growth, Sodexo fosters an environment where individuals are treated fairly, respected, and empowered to thrive. The company supports career advancement through ongoing training and development, emphasizes work-life balance, and offers a competitive benefits package that addresses the needs of employees and their families.
The Cook position at Hillcrest Medical Center with Sodexo is a full-time role offering a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. This role is integral to the successful operation of the food service team, responsible for preparing and presenting meals that meet Sodexo's rigorous standards of quality, taste, and safety. Working primarily during morning shifts with varying days and rotating weekends, the Cook must be adaptable and dependable, ensuring that all food items—both hot and cold—are prepared efficiently and consistently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position requires adherence to federal, state, and corporate food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and collaborating effectively with teammates to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
The Cook’s responsibilities include following recipes and product guidelines with precision, portioning and seasoning foods appropriately, and keeping accurate records for planning and inventory purposes. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires significant walking, standing for extended periods, and the ability to lift and move food products and kitchen equipment. The position may involve additional duties tailored to business needs and client requirements.
Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED, have up to two years of related culinary experience, and demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment and fundamental food handling procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions independently are crucial for success in this role. Sodexo encourages applicants who are motivated to provide outstanding service and eager to grow within a dynamic work environment.
Overall, the Cook role at Sodexo provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to build a rewarding career in culinary services within a reputable company that values its employees’ contributions and supports ongoing professional development. Sodexo offers a flexible and supportive work environment, comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans, and employee discounts, ensuring the well-being of its workforce. Applicants will be joining a company that prioritizes inclusion, respects diversity, and is committed to delivering a better everyday experience for everyone involved.
