The available position is for a High Volume Cook located in Westborough, Massachusetts. This role requires the candidate to work 40 hours per week with shifts scheduled either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. The starting pay rate ranges from $18 to $20 per hour with weekly direct deposit payments. The High Volume Cook plays a vital role in food preparation and service by supporting breakfast, lunch, and catered events under the supervision of the Chef or Chef Manager. Responsibilities include operating kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef’s knives.

This role is critical in maintaining food safety, freshness, and quality by adhering to proper handling and cooking procedures. The cook must be vigilant in inspecting food items, regulating cooking temperatures, preparing stations according to company standards, and ensuring timely and courteous food service. This position requires a person who is detail-oriented, able to follow recipes and instructions accurately, and committed to upholding sanitary and safety standards within a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
  • Check food freshness and rotate stock following labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to ensure proper doneness using tasting, smelling, or thermometers
  • Prepare assigned stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods including meats, fish, and vegetables
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately following recipes
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as required
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • Maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Provide timely food service to customers
  • Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
  • Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to the supervisor
  • Adhere to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service including being attentive and approachable
  • Perform other duties as assigned
