Job Description

Utah Valley Specialty Hospital in Provo, Utah is a dedicated long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) that specializes in advanced medical and rehabilitative services for patients with complex and critical health needs. As a free-standing specialty hospital, it provides extended hospitalization to patients recovering from serious illnesses or catastrophic injuries. This includes individuals requiring ventilator or respiratory support, extensive wound care, or ongoing critical nursing care. The hospital is uniquely equipped with all private rooms, including a specialized high-observation ICU step-down unit, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for every patient.

Our multidisciplinary team at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital is composed of experienced physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation therapists who work collaboratively to provide exceptional patient care. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and has earned recognition for excellence in respiratory care, serving not just Utah, but surrounding states as a trusted center for healing. We emphasize a warm, patient-focused approach, treating every patient like family, and coordinate closely with referring hospitals and patients' families to ensure seamless transitions through different stages of recovery.

Located in Provo, a vibrant city known for its stunning mountain views and strong community spirit, the hospital offers a unique working environment that balances professional challenges with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Provo’s low cost of living, abundant recreational opportunities, and the presence of Brigham Young University add to the city’s appeal.

We are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our team. This role plays a vital part in delivering quality nutrition services to our patients, employees, and visitors, supporting their recovery and well-being through thoughtfully prepared meals. As part of Ernest Health, Utah Valley Specialty Hospital offers robust wellness, recognition, and retention programs designed to enhance the employee experience. We actively encourage employee engagement through platforms such as "My Ernest Journey" and our Engagement Survey, reflecting our commitment to listening and responding to our workforce’s needs.

The Cook position involves preparing healthy foods while adhering strictly to safety and hygiene standards. The chosen candidate will be responsible for creating menus, ordering necessary supplies, and integrating the hospital’s mission and guiding principles into daily operations. Our hospital offers comprehensive benefits aimed at supporting both health and financial well-being, including multiple medical plan options, dental and vision coverage, 401K with employer matching, and wellness initiatives.
