Job Requirements

  • Safe Food Handling Certification
  • Previous experience in dietary or food service preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible schedule availability
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a long-term care dietary environment preferred
  • Safe Food Handling Certification required
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs
  • Ability to follow recipe and menu specifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail in food preparation and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves palatable, nourishing, well-balanced diets to meet daily nutritional and special dietary needs of each resident
  • Assists in dishwashing operation and cleaning tasks
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of kitchen and dining areas
  • Ensures compliance with safe food handling certification standards
  • Collaborates with dietary and healthcare staff to accommodate resident dietary restrictions
  • Monitors inventory and notifies management of supply needs
  • Adheres to all health and safety regulations
