Job Description
Metz Culinary Management is a leading foodservice management company dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences across various settings, including schools, healthcare facilities, and corporate environments. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Metz Culinary Management prides itself on fostering a family-driven culture that emphasizes restaurant-inspired hospitality and teamwork. Serving Erie’s Public Schools, Metz Culinary Management plays a crucial role in supporting student health and well-being by providing nutritious and appealing meals in K-12 school environments. This company values creativity, efficiency, and a positive work atmosphere, making it an attractive employer for those passionate about foodservice and culinary arts.
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Recipe Cook to join our dynamic team in Erie, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on preparing and presenting delicious meals by accurately following executive chef menus, while working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will excel at reading and following recipes, multitasking effectively, and applying basic mathematical skills to ensure proper measurements and portioning. Our cooks are vital to the mission of enhancing the dining experience for students, providing them with meals that support their health and academic success.
This position offers full-time and part-time opportunities with working hours primarily Monday through Friday during the daytime, with no holiday shifts. The starting salary ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. This role is especially suitable for culinary and hospitality school graduates who are eager to start or advance their careers in foodservice. Metz Culinary Management is committed to employee growth and provides on-the-job training for motivated individuals who demonstrate a passion for food and a positive team spirit.
In addition to cooking, responsibilities include assisting with kitchen prep, dishroom duties, managing dry stock and perishable food inventories, and maintaining sanitation standards. Experience in food service settings such as hospitals, schools, or colleges is preferred but not mandatory, as the company welcomes enthusiastic individuals ready to contribute and grow. Employees enjoy a lively team environment where hard work and a smile are appreciated, and where creativity in meal preparation is encouraged.
As a family-driven company, Metz Culinary Management emphasizes a supportive work culture and is committed to safety through required background checks and drug screening during onboarding. Other benefits include optional daily pay and opportunities for career development. By joining Metz Culinary Management, you become part of a mission that truly matters — providing quality, nutritious meals that make a difference in students’ lives every day.
