Job Requirements
- Must have cook experience
- Must have batch cooking experience
- Ability to work full-time including weekends
- Ability to follow food safety guidelines and HACCP standards
- Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Must pass company-required background checks
- Must comply with company drug-free workplace policy
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience required, especially batch cooking
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
- Understanding of HACCP standards and food safety regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work weekends and full-time schedule
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties safely
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
- Commitment to personal and workplace safety and cleanliness
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning and ensuring food is at proper temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and orderly
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in food production planning, record keeping, and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies
- Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and managers
- Performs job safely maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Commits personally to safety policies including correct use of cut gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes
