Job Requirements

  • Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Requires a minimum of one year of closely related cooking experience, work experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Requires food knowledge pertaining to soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
  • Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Frequently works in hot environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of cooking experience in a high volume or casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and product directions
  • Strong communication skills to interact with management, servers, and customers
  • Ability to perform multiple kitchen station functions
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills for food production and inventory management

Job Duties

  • Prepare cooked foods according to recipes and product directions
  • Perform all station functions including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs
  • Communicate ticket times and potential issues to management and servers
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • Follow food safety and sanitation practices complying with HACCP standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment and handle food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
