Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one year experience in nursing home or hospital type setting as a cook preferred
  • SERV Safe required or obtained within three months of being hired
  • must have reliable transportation
  • able to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • able to perform basic math calculations including weights, temperatures, fractions, and measurements
  • able to measure solids and liquids according to recipe specifications
  • must be reliable and consistently at work when scheduled

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one year experience in nursing home or hospital cook setting preferred
  • SERV Safe certification required or to be obtained within three months of hire
  • strong English and math skills
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • basic math skills including weights, temperatures, fractions, and measurements
  • reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch adhering to state regulations
  • perform various cooking tasks including baking, slicing, roasting, and food prep
  • maintain accurate inventory control
  • ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • follow recipe specifications for measurements and cooking instructions
  • communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • comply with all health and safety protocols
