Job Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation with favorable results
  • Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
  • Be available for shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
  • Complete a favorable pre-employment physical
  • Have resided in the United States for 3 years and currently reside in the commuting area of the vacancy
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
  • Register for Selective Service if applicable
  • Agree to direct deposit
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic
  • Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done
  • Knowledge of the methods and procedures relating to food presentation
  • Open to all applicants with categorized preferences and priority eligibilities

Job Duties

  • Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables
  • Prepare hot cereals, broiled meats
  • prepare and cook concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
  • make cold sandwich fillings
  • Prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets
  • prepare and bake pizza as required
  • Peel, chop, grind, pare, cut, slice, dice, puree, dredge, flour or bread food items
  • weigh, measure and assemble ingredients for regular menu items
  • set up and replenish salad bar
  • portion foods for distribution and meal service
  • cover, date and store leftovers according to established procedures
  • wash and clean kitchen equipment
  • mix ingredients according to written recipes that produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste
  • perform other related duties as assigned
