Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
ServeSafe Manager or Food Handler Certification
A current California driver's license and proof of auto insurance
Ability to work well in a team environment
Experience working with a female population preferred
Must be able to pass a criminal history background screening (Live-Scan)
Maintain yearly CPR, First Aid Certification, and Tuberculosis test results
Not currently on probation or parole, discharged for at least three years
Maintain mandated training requirements for position

Job Duties

Assist with food preparation, cleanliness, and adherence to health codes and regulatory guidelines for a residential facility
Supervise the preparation of assigned meals for the on-site program participants
Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with approved menus, that meals are served on time, and keep track of the number of meals served to residents
Test all food prior to serving and retain a sample of each meal for 48 hours to determine possible food contamination
Supervise participants assigned to work in the kitchen
Maintain high health standards including cleanliness, sanitation, and wearing hairnets and/or caps and gloves in food preparation and serving areas
Ensure that equipment is in good operating condition and that temperatures are within proper standards, be constantly aware of fire and safety hazards and report repair/maintenance needs to Facility Manager
