Job Requirements

Must be 18 years old or older
must have reliable transportation
must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
must have sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, reach, and move in confined work areas
must be able to work in environments with extreme temperature changes
must be able to read and understand recipes, tickets, and product specifications
must meet all federal, state, and local health regulations relating to food handling
must be able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals
must possess basic English communication skills both oral and written
must meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards
must pass required tests and training
must demonstrate excellent guest service skills
must be dependable and able to follow instructions

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment is an asset
knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
ability to follow recipes and food preparation guidelines
strong communication skills
basic math skills including measurement understanding
ability to work effectively as part of a team
dependable with a strong work ethic
ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment
understanding of customer service principles
willingness to learn and adapt to company standards
ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

Prepare and present food to order following company menu and food specifications and timing standards
adhere to all federal, state, and local safe food handling regulations
perform proper food prep and storage according to prep charts and rotation guidelines
maintain proper food temperatures in compliance with brand standards and health regulations
prepare special orders as requested
maintain stock to shift par levels
organize and maintain work areas, coolers, and storage areas
assist with product inventory and deliveries
clean and maintain kitchen equipment including ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, and utensils
complete side work and deep cleaning assignments in a timely manner
monitor waste and manage food cost controls
respond promptly and courteously to complaints and concerns
provide support to service assistants and other team members
adhere to Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies
provide prompt, courteous service while interacting with guests and team members
