Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and transport supplies, tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of safe food handling techniques in all applications
  • ability to understand workflow, prioritize, use timelines, and meet deadlines
  • demonstrated customer service skills preferred
  • ability to prepare food according to modified diets preferred
  • experience using commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food
  • serves customers
  • follows recipes and instructions in the preparation of food items
  • prepares bulk food items and completes assembly of specialty meals and catered items
  • maintains an organized and sanitary working environment
  • maintains proper quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product
  • interacts with customers in catering, retail outlets, or patient care settings
  • may deliver patient meals, cashier, stock inventory, and use automatic and manual ware-washing machines
