Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in food preparation preferred
- ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- ability to stand for extended periods
- good physical condition to reach, bend, grasp, and feel
- ability to work in environments with extreme temperatures and chemical exposure
- must be able to understand and communicate effectively in English
- ability to work flexible hours and shifts
- must maintain professional appearance
- willingness to wear a uniform
- ability to work with disabled, ill, emotionally upset or hostile elderly residents
Job Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups
- ability to read and understand recipes
- effective communication skills both verbal and written

Job Duties
- Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts in appropriate portions
- maintains sanitation standards required by licenses and regulations
- cleans work areas, utensils, and equipment with assistance
- ensures inventory rotation and freshness of food
- notifies Food Service Director when supplies are needed
- stores food and checks supplies upon delivery in absence of Food Service Director
- encourages feedback from residents, guests, and staff to improve food quality and service
- supports other departments and strives to improve overall resident satisfaction
- provides good communication to all involved in providing services to residents and guests
- performs other duties as assigned
