Job Description

Qualicare Nursing Home, a prominent part of Ciena Healthcare in Michigan, is dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality skilled nursing and rehabilitation care services. As the largest provider in the state, Ciena Healthcare prides itself on treating every resident as a unique individual who deserves personalized attention and excellence in care. Our commitment extends beyond healthcare, embracing the role of food and nutrition in enhancing the well-being and happiness of those we serve. At Qualicare Nursing Home, we recognize that a beautifully-crafted meal not only nourishes the body but can also bring joy and comfort, making a significant positive impact on our residents' day-to-day lives.Show More
Joining our culinary team means becoming part of a supportive environment that values dedication, teamwork, and passion for excellence in food preparation and hospitality. Our team members are empowered with the resources and support needed to grow their careers through programs such as tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, and the SPOTLIGHT rewards and recognition program exclusive to Ciena staff. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package designed to take care of our employees as much as they take care of our residents. Being a cook at Qualicare Nursing Home offers a rewarding opportunity to combine your love for the culinary arts with a meaningful purpose — serving individuals who may face health or physical challenges, ensuring their meals are not only delicious but also meet their special nutritional needs.

In this role, you will work in a well-organized and supportive setting that emphasizes communication and teamwork. You will be responsible for preparing nourishing, well-balanced meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of our guests, following standardized recipes developed by registered dietitians. Attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and timing is crucial, as is the efficient and economical use of food supplies and kitchen equipment to minimize waste. Beyond cooking, this role includes supervising culinary staff in food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleanliness to maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality. In the absence of the chef or dietary manager, you will take on supervisory responsibilities to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Working at Ciena Healthcare means joining a dedicated community that values each employee's contribution and supports professional growth. If you have a passion for cooking, a caring nature, and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others through food and hospitality, Qualicare Nursing Home is the ideal workplace for you. We are excited to welcome new team members who share our commitment to excellence and compassion.Show Less
