The Cook position at Carriage Court is a part-time role offering a competitive pay range of $20 to $20.75 per hour, with shifts scheduled on Mondays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- possess a current Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
- demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
- proficient communication skills
- physically active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift
- ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
- comfortable working near extreme temperatures
- available to work indoors and outdoors
- must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health
- demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
- proficient written and oral communication skills with management and staff
- ability to work standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
- capacity to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- comfort with exposure to extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- willingness to work indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
- criminal clearance
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
- ensure health protocols are followed including proper hygiene and sanitary food preparation
- maintain proper food temperatures
- familiarize yourself with residents and their preferences and needs
- participate in resident orientations
- ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas
