Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have current Food Handlers Card
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds frequently
- Comfortable working in areas with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Availability to work both indoors and outdoors for events
- Must be criminally cleared
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with management, professional, and support staff
- Experience working in a food service or culinary role preferred
- Ability to understand, read, write, and communicate in English
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- Ensure health protocols including hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures are always followed
- Familiarize with residents and their culinary preferences and needs
- Participate in resident orientations
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and dining areas
- Handle cooking equipment and ingredients safely and efficiently
- Provide high-quality and attractively presented meals in a timely manner
