Job Description

Arrow Senior Living is a leading management company specializing in senior living communities across the Midwest, currently operating 25 properties in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana. With a dedicated team of nearly 1,400 employees, Arrow Senior Living offers a comprehensive range of care services including independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory care. The company prides itself on creating a welcoming and home-like environment not only for its residents but also for its team members. Arrow Senior Living emphasizes core values that directly enhance the quality of life for residents, fostering both personal and professional growth opportunities within its communities. As an organization, it promotes from within and invests in its people through various incentives, recognitions, and benefits, making it a rewarding place to build a career.

The Fremont Senior Living, one of the premier communities managed by Arrow Senior Living located at 1520 E. Bates St., Springfield, Missouri, is currently seeking passionate and dedicated part-time cooks to join their culinary team. This role welcomes individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment and are committed to culinary excellence and outstanding resident service. Starting wages for cooks range from $16.00 to $22.25 per hour, reflecting a competitive compensation package that recognizes skill and experience.

As a Cook at The Fremont Senior Living, you will be recognized as a Culinary Craftsman where your primary responsibility is the preparation of all menu items following established standards and recipes to deliver exceptional, high-quality food in a timely manner. You will play a key role in maintaining health and safety protocols, ensuring hygienic food preparation processes, and controlling proper food temperatures to guarantee resident safety and satisfaction. This position also requires you to become familiar with residents' preferences and dietary requirements, acting as a Culinary Connector by participating in resident orientations and contributing to personalized dining experiences.

The role demands physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the day, as well as the capability to lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Working primarily indoors, you will occasionally be required to support outdoor events. Prospective team members must hold a current Food Handlers Card in accordance with Department of Health regulations and pass a criminal background check.

Arrow Senior Living values its employees and offers a comprehensive benefits package including a company match 401(k) with 100% match up to the first 3%, medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, disability, life insurance, and paid time off. Both full-time and part-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement after 90 days, employee assistance programs, and participation in employee referral and recognition programs. Complimentary meals are provided each shift, with additional financial benefits like daily pay options and direct deposit available. These benefits reflect Arrow Senior Living's commitment to investing in its team while fostering a workplace culture centered on respect, growth, and enjoyment.

By joining The Fremont Senior Living culinary team, you become part of a supportive and vibrant community where you can develop lifelong friendships, advance your career, and make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors. If you are enthusiastic, skilled in kitchen operations, and motivated to deliver an exceptional dining experience, this opportunity offers a fulfilling and meaningful career path.
