We are currently seeking a part-time Cook for our Summit location at 16100 Chenal Valley Drive, Little Rock, AR 72223, with a starting wage of $15 per hour. This schedule involves working on Monday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The role of the Cook at Arrow Senior Living is integral, as it directly impacts the dining experience and overall well-being of residents. Responsibilities include preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes while ensuring exceptional quality, timely food preparation, and attractive presentation. The Cook will also maintain strict adherence to health and sanitation protocols, uphold hygienic food preparation practices, and monitor proper food temperatures to guarantee resident safety.

In addition to culinary responsibilities, the Cook is encouraged to forge meaningful connections with residents by understanding their preferences and dietary needs, demonstrating Arrow Senior Living's holistic approach to care. This position requires physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy items, as well as comfort working in environments with extreme temperatures like kitchens and walk-in freezers. Ideal candidates will possess a current Food Handlers Card, excellent communication skills, and a criminal background clearance. Job Requirements

  • must be at least eighteen years of age
  • must be able to read write understand and communicate in English
  • must have demonstrated skills knowledge and competency in leadership training and supervision
  • must possess proficient written and oral communication skills
  • must be active with ability to stand walk bend kneel and stoop all day
  • must be able to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • must be comfortable in close contact with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • must have ability to work indoors and outdoors
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • possession of a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health
  • demonstrated skills in leadership training and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors for events
  • comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and freezers
