Job Description
Arrow Senior Living is a well-established management company overseeing a diverse portfolio of senior living communities that provide varying levels of care, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Currently operating 25 properties across five states—Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and Arkansas—Arrow Senior Living employs nearly 1,400 individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of seniors while fostering a supportive, home-like environment for both residents and team members. Their commitment to core values, career growth, and employee well-being is evident in their internal promotion policies, employee appreciation efforts, and comprehensive benefits packages. The company proudly serves and employs individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to diversity and inclusion, adhering to state and federal laws protecting against discrimination.
The Summit Senior Living located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is one of the distinguished communities managed by Arrow Senior Living. This location offers vibrant senior living opportunities and is currently seeking a part-time Cook. The role offers an attractive starting wage range from $15.00 to $20.50 per hour and is designed for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and dedicated to providing excellent food quality and service to seniors.
As a Cook at The Summit Senior Living, you will assume a vital role branded as a Culinary Craftsman, where your main responsibility will be to prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring high-temperature food safety and attractive presentation in a timely manner. This role is essential in maintaining the health protocols in the kitchen, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and temperature controls. Moreover, you will serve as a Culinary Connector by engaging with residents to understand their preferences and needs, actively participating in resident orientations, and contributing positively to their dining experience.
This position requires a high level of activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping throughout the shift, and the frequent lifting or moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds. A Food Handlers Card and criminal clearance are mandatory prerequisites. Effective communication skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are also critical for success in this role. The position demands comfort with exposure to extreme temperatures found near cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers and occasionally working outdoors for special events.
Arrow Senior Living values its employees and offers a generous benefits package tailored for both full-time and part-time team members. Benefits include a company match 401(k) plan with complete vesting upon enrollment, medical, dental, and vision insurance (for full-time staff), disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and employee referral programs. Staff members receive recognition through weekly employee appreciation events, complimentary meals on every shift, access to daily pay options, and direct deposit facilities. Arrow takes pride in their culture where employees find lifelong friendships, career progression opportunities, and an enjoyable work atmosphere. Joining The Summit Senior Living team means becoming part of a community that truly values both residents and team members, investing in their growth, happiness, and professional success.
