The Cook at Aramark is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods, following standardized recipes and production guidelines. Cooks at Aramark maintain a clean, organized workstation and operate essential kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. The role involves performing various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meats, vegetables, and other dishes. Cooks are expected to handle food preparation tasks such as measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling ingredients, while also ensuring proper food storage and sanitation of work areas. Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- physical ability including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
