The Cook position at El Super #1 South Gate - Firestone plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the kitchen. Under the direct supervision of a Restaurant Manager, the Cook is accountable for preparing all food items according to established recipes and portion standards. The role involves various food preparation activities including sautéing, frying, and cooking items on the kitchen line. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety practices, as well as the ability to maintain high levels of cleanliness in the food preparation area. Moreover, the Cook aids in serving customers, filling display cases, and completing cleaning duties within the department. Job Duties

  • Portion and prepare food items prior to cooking
  • sauté, fry, or otherwise cook food on the kitchen line
  • use freshest ingredients and follow sanitation guidelines
  • prep recipes to standard to maintain product consistency
  • assist customers with orders
  • serve food to customers if needed
  • fill display cases as needed
  • assist in cleaning of the department
