The role of Cook 1 within Northwood Hospitality’s culinary department is pivotal to ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals that meet the expectations of their discerning guests. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, this position involves preparing a wide array of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, strictly adhering to recipes and established culinary standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred
  • Food Handler's Certification required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred
  • Strong culinary skills including knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
  • Food Handler's Certification required

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of dishes including appetizers entrees and desserts according to recipes and standards
  • Ensure that all food is of the highest quality and meets strict standards
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines including proper food handling and storage procedures
  • Assist with inventory management including receiving and storing food supplies
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow
  • Assist with special events and catering as needed
