The role of Cook at Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara is instrumental in upholding the brand’s legendary culinary standards. This position involves preparing high-quality menu items in accordance with established recipes, ensuring consistent portioning and presentation that satisfy the discerning tastes of the Residence Club’s guests. The Cook works across multiple stations to support breakfast, lunch, and dinner services while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Collaboration with kitchen leadership, including Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef, is a key aspect of the role to ensure operational efficiency and superior dining experiences.

Additionally, the Cook contributes to daily kitchen operations by assisting in menu creation, managing inventory requisitions, and adhering to payroll and uniform procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, including formal education or apprenticeship, and demonstrated expertise in taste profile development and sauce preparation. This role requires professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a culinary apprenticeship, cooking school or culinary institute
  • Strong proficiency in English reading, writing and speaking
  • Ability to work multiple stations in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of menu preparation, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • High school graduate
  • Apprenticeship, cooking school or culinary institute education
  • Highly developed sense of taste and comprehensive sauce preparation skills

Job Duties

  • Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
  • Able to effectively work the various stations in a three meal restaurant
  • Assist CDC in running the day to day operation of the kitchen
  • Assist in creating and preparing menus items and specials
  • Check and complete mise en place and pars and set-up the station
  • Complete requisitions, obtain proper signatures and submit to the Purchasing department
  • Communicate with the Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages
  • Utilize the computer system in retrieving orders
  • Work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed
  • Store items properly at the end of the shift
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and organized work area
  • Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons and encourage staff to do the same
  • Respond properly in any Residence Club emergency or safety situation
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by Residence Club management and staff
