The Cook I position at Four Seasons Nashville represents an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional passionate about food preparation and quality. This full-time role involves preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner items that meet the highest production and quality standards within a safe and organized kitchen environment. The Cook I will master a designated cooking specialty such as butchery, baking, charcuterie, or breakfast preparations and prepare dishes in strict adherence to recipe cards, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
This position plays an integral role in ensuring the seamless operation of the culinary team and contributing to the consistent delivery of exceptional dishes that delight guests. Responsibilities include completing mise en place, setting up stations for service periods, operating and maintaining various kitchen equipment, rotating stock to maintain freshness, controlling food waste, and supporting colleagues in prep work. The role demands strong culinary skills, an understanding of food safety and sanitation standards, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Job Duties
- Master a cooking specialty and prepare food items according to guest orders, following recipe cards, production, portion, and presentation standards
- complete mise en place and set up stations for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service
- start food items prepared ahead of time, ensuring quantities align with estimated needs
- operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat-top grill
- date all food containers and rotate stock according to policies, ensuring perishables are maintained at proper temperatures
- check pars for shift use, prepare necessary items, pull from freezer, and set up the line, noting out-of-stock items or potential shortages and assist in resolving food cost issues
- control food waste, loss, and usage according to policies
- assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift
- comply fully with Four Seasons Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as outlined in EmPact
- work collaboratively and professionally with co-workers and supervisors to maintain a productive and safe kitchen environment
