In the role of Cook I at the Warrior Restaurant, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of directing and overseeing the preparation and serving activities of Cook Helpers and other cooking staff members, ensuring all kitchen operations run smoothly and according to plan. Under the supervision of the Warrior Restaurant Management, this position involves meticulous attention to detail, from verifying the use of recipe cards and measuring tools to sampling food items to guarantee correct seasoning and preparation. Progressive cooking techniques must be employed to align meal production with demand, reducing waste and ensuring freshness. In addition to coordinating the kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining documentation such as the Risk Management Sheet and Production Schedule, which are essential for audit and operational tracking purposes. Operational duties extend beyond cooking; overseeing the cleanliness of kitchen facilities and compliance with health and safety regulations is a key aspect of this role. You will also serve as acting manager in the absence of the Warrior Restaurant Management, adding an extra layer of leadership and responsibility. This role requires a combination of cooking expertise, supervisory experience, organizational skills, and an advanced understanding of food safety practices. Serving in this capacity provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the morale and well-being of personnel by delivering high-quality, dependable meal service within a structured and disciplined environment. The employment type is full-time, requiring physical stamina to stand and move extensively during shifts, lift heavy items, and perform various physical tasks related to kitchen operations.
