Job Description

Invited is a distinguished leader in the hospitality and service industry, operating since 1957 with a strong commitment to building relationships and enriching the lives of its members, guests, and more than 17,000 employees. As the largest owner and operator of private clubs in the United States, Invited proudly manages over 130 country clubs, city clubs, and athletic clubs. These clubs offer an array of first-class amenities, including championship golf courses, modern workspaces, handcrafted cuisine, resort-style pools, state-of-the-art racquet facilities, fitness centers, and much more. Invited is renowned for fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment where teamwork, growth, and service excellence thrive.

The Cook 1 position at Invited is an entry-level culinary role crucial to the success of our kitchen operations. As a Cook 1, individuals are responsible for preparing and organizing their workstation to facilitate efficient food preparation under the guidance of more experienced culinary team members such as Cook 2 and Cook 3. This role focuses on basic food preparation tasks including set-up, execution of prep duties, and ensuring that all food items like daily specials, salads, entrees, and other menu offerings meet the quality standards established by the Chef(s).

This role requires meticulous attention to cleanliness and sanitation, including the upkeep of kitchen tools, equipment, counters, and waste areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Cook 1 team members also play a vital role in inventory management by receiving and properly storing goods purchased for the kitchen. Effective communication with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef about special product needs or food quality issues is essential to guarantee guest satisfaction.

The position demands a high level of professionalism in interacting with members and guests, accommodating last-minute requests, and contributing positively to the team atmosphere. Employees are expected to uphold Invited’s three-step service delivery standard and proactively assist members to enhance their club experience. This role also includes addressing and resolving guest complaints professionally while notifying management of any issues, demonstrating effective service recovery techniques.

Beyond food preparation, Cook 1 employees are encouraged to take initiative in personal and professional development, maintain required food handler certifications, comply with all safety guidelines, and embody the culture of excellence which defines Invited. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic club environment, team members are called to assist others as needed and engage fully in daily briefings and operational activities.

Physical stamina is essential, as Cook 1s must stand and move for extended periods, work in varying temperature conditions, and handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally. The role requires the use of kitchen knives, pots, pans, and other food storage containers, demanding dexterity and attention to detail.

Invited offers an attractive Total Rewards package, especially for full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, disability plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off. The organization is committed to creating a supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and recognition.
