The Food Preparation Worker position at Care New England is an essential role responsible for preparing meals for both the dining room and patient services under the supervision of a Cook II or Executive Chef. This role requires following standardized recipes, production sheets, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines to ensure food safety and quality. The Food Preparation Worker is instrumental in managing food inventory, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the work area, and supporting catered events for the institution. This position demands precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to setting and maintaining high standards for food handling and production. Candidates will engage in cooking activities such as grilling, plating meals, and managing food portions appropriately to meet daily needs. The role also includes responsibilities such as cleaning the production area at the end of shifts and assisting with various food-related tasks as assigned.   • Vocational or technical training
  • Minimum of one year's job-related experience

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the preparation and cooling of foods using standardized recipes, production sheets and HACCP records under the supervision of a cook
  • Prepare and cook food on grill
  • Serves and plates meals for patient services
  • Control quantity and quality of foods used on a daily basis by taking inventory daily and ordering supplies as needed
  • Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness in the work area
  • Responsible for cleaning production area prior to end of shift
  • Responsible for maintaining principles of proper food production and other related activities
  • Assists with catered events for food preparation and service
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
